When I think about why Kaye Cal became one of the people who stayed, I realize it was never just about the music.
Of course, I loved her songs. They became part of the soundtrack of my everyday life. But what truly made me connect with her was the person behind the voice.
I’ve always had a deep respect for people who remain humble despite their talent, achievements, or recognition. In a world that often celebrates the loudest voices, there is something refreshing about people who stay grounded no matter how successful they become.
The more I learned about Kaye, the more I admired that quality in her.
There was a quietness about her that felt familiar. As an introvert myself, I often found comfort in seeing someone who didn’t need to be the center of attention to make an impact. She carried herself with authenticity, humility, and grace.
It also didn’t hurt that we’re almost the same age.
Perhaps that’s why her journey felt relatable. As life changed and responsibilities grew, her music continued to feel like it was growing alongside me.
Looking back, I think our common ground was never fame, success, or even music.
It was the simple realization that quiet people can still leave a lasting impact.
And for that reason, Kaye Cal became one of the first people who earned a permanent place in my story.
